  How private is the information contained in the e-directory?  
   

Information contained in the e-directory is governed by Canada’s PIPEDA act and On Co-op’s privacy policies.  Our Privacy Policy provides all the safeguards as standardized in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, (the "PIPEDA"). It confirms our dedication to protecting privacy and maintaining the trust that individuals have placed in On Co-op. This Privacy Policy is our guarantee that we will maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the personal information entrusted to us.   For further information, click on the PRIVACY link at the bottom of each e-directory page.

What government department is responsible for the e-directory?

 
   

There is no government agency or department that operates or maintains a database equivalent to the e-directory.  The e-directory is a project of the Ontario Co-operative Association, a provincial co-operative organization with a mandate to develop, unite and promote co-operatives throughout Ontario.

The e-directory is managed and operated by the Ontario Co-operative Association.  It is not managed or funded by any level of government, although an initial grant from the Agricultural Adaptation Council provided On Co-op with the resources to create the e-directory project.
