If you’re not sure what some of the above activities mean, don’t worry - you’ll learn all about them during your week at camp!
Meals are all served around the same time every day. Please make sure you bring your appetite! (And let us know on the registration form if you have any food sensitivities.)
Outdoor activities that could be available at camp include: soccer, swimming, volleyball, basketball, kayaking, canoeing and hiking. You may also bring your own sports equipment if you like.
COMMITTEES
CYL Participants are expected to take an active role in organizing activities, planning their time and governing the week. Participants will have a chance to sign up for one of the following committees that help to organize the week:
- Sports and Recreation (plan and organize games and activities)
- Social Committee (plan and organize Talent Shows, Fashion Shows and other events)
- Rules and Regulations (as a group, make up more rules for you and your fellow campers to follow)
- Collective Memories (providing your recollections of the week)
- Media Moments (highlighting each day’s news and events)
- Snack Shack - the co-operative store run for - and by - the participants
At some other leadership camps everything is already planned for you when you get there. Well, not at CYL! You and your fellow CYL committee members will plan many of the events and activities yourself.
If you know any fun activities, camp songs or other neat stuff, start practicing so you can teach it to us when you get to CYL.
