Ontario’s 1300 co-operatives, credit unions and caisses populaires are diverse organizations, operating in more than a dozen key sectors in Ontario’s economy and with over 1900 locations in more than 400 communities throughout the province. Remaining true to the international principles of co-operation, each co-op is autonomous and independent, and supports the needs of its community and membership.
Except where specifically noted, each organization in this e-directory is incorporated under Ontario or Canada co-operative legislation, and operates according to the
co-operative business model.
The Ontario Co-operative Association (On Co-op) developed and maintains the
only searchable online database of co-ops, credit unions and caisses populaires in Ontario - this e-directory. On Co-op is a resource and common voice for Ontario credit unions and co-operatives in the areas of co-operative development, government relations, membership and communications, and lifelong co-operative learning.
On Co-op (itself a co-operative) provides professional development, networking and innovative programs and services to support its members and develop and strengthen the Ontario co-operative sector. Our mission is to link, cultivate and connect the
co-operative sector.
